The fourth beta of iOS 17 is truly interesting despite only having a few front-end improvements. Proof of that is its codes, which give us ideas of the surprising features Apple could introduce in its future iPhone products. That includes the possible functions you could use in the new Action Button of the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max models in September.
After discovering that Apple might be trying macOS’ Game Mode feature in iOS, folks at MacRumors have found another fascinating detail in the code of iOS Beta 4. According to the website, new code snippets in the beta update give more clarity on what the rumored Action Button could do for iPhone 15 users.
The button will reportedly replace the Ring/Silent switch in the iPhone. It could be compared to what Apple Watch has, but since Apple is bringing it to iPhones, it is expected to have more smartphone-dedicated options compared to its watch counterpart. And according to the report, the code discovered lists nine different feature options: Accessibility, Shortcuts, Silent Mode, Camera, Flashlight, Focus, Magnifier, Translate, and Voice Memos.
While this sounds enough to uncover what the Action Button will do in general, it is still unclear what exact functions it will offer in some sections. For instance, Accessibility comes with different features, and so as Shortcuts and Cameras. With this, it is certain that users will be given the option to customize them and specifically choose the function of the button. If true, this could mean you could choose what specific accessibility feature or camera app/mode you want for the Action Button.
