check button
The Roccat Kone Pure Owl-Eye is an ergonomic mouse suitable for small to medium-size hands, the mouse features high-quality buttons, a flawless sensor, and the build quality is amazing at this price.

Design

If your hands start sweating while playing games, it’s always better to get a mouse that is made of matt material instead of glossy material. The Pure Owl-Eye is made up of matte black plastic and comes in two colors: All black and white top with a black body, the duo-tone variant is one of the best-looking gaming mice, but it’s difficult to find on Amazon. Its shape is pretty controversial; it might not fit in your hand or fit like it’s part of your body. So it is not for everyone.

The mouse feels pretty good in palm grip and is also suitable for claw and fingertip grips. Owl-Eye features eight buttons: left and right clicks, clickable scroll wheel, 2 DPI buttons, and two side buttons. On the back, it features Roccat’s illuminating logo; its feet have a good amount of surface area, which helps glide the mouse smoothly. The cable used in this one is the regular braided cable; neither it’s super flexible nor too stiff, which is good.

Performance and Features

The mouse has a Pixart PMW 3361 sensor, which offers excellent tracking and has no prediction. It can also work in four polling rates: 125Hz, 250Hz, 500Hz, 1000Hz and the DPI can be set anywhere from 100 to 12000. The Pure Owl-Eye performs exceptionally well while playing games such as Division 2 and Doom. The mouse feels responsive and works without jitter, even if you use it without the mouse pad.

You can download Roccat Swarm from the website. It lets you customize: RGB lights, Polling Rate, DPI, Double Click Speed, Vertical scroll speed, Lift-Off Distance, and more.

Pros

  • Lightweight
  • Good for small hands
  • Flawless sensor

Cons

  • None, considering the price

Design

It has six customizable buttons: two primary clicks, a scroll button, a DPI (dots per inch) adjustment button on top, and thumb buttons.

The Razer Viper Mini is exactly what all the people with small hands have been asking for. The mouse has a flawless sensor, onboard storage, optical switches, and is lightweight too.

Design

The Viper Mini features an ambidextrous matte plastic shell and weighs around 61g. It has Razor’s RGB logo and Ultimate’s RGB under the heel. There are two thumb buttons on the left side and nothing on the right side. They have removed the rubber side grips in this model so the mouse feels a bit slippery.

The DPI switch has been moved near the scroll wheel instead of being placed under the mouse. Its switches have a lifespan of 50 million clicks. The Mini features a Speedflex cable with a decent length, and Razor has used PTFE feet, which are smoother and more durable than feet on other Razer mice.

check button
NOTE: This mouse might not fit if your hands are not too small. Avoid buying this one if you are not sure.

The G403 is a part of the Prodigy line from Logitech; this new series is offering Logitech’s high-end devices at lower prices. But that does not mean you’ll get fewer features, with this mouse you will still get a flawless sensor, Omron switches, and Logitech’s software for customization.

Design

The mouse has a basic design; a lot of people complain about the design being too familiar. But from the usability perspective, the design does not have any major flaws. The shell has matt finish, and the sides have rubber grips; thus, the surface is free of fingerprints. The left and right-click are responsive and do not feel snappy. The two thumb buttons on the left side are easy to reach.

There is not much to mention about the scroll wheel except that it cannot be switched to free-spinning mode. On top, there is also a button that you can use to change mouse sensitivity. It has a durable 2-meter braided cable. Both RGB LEDs under the G logo and the scroll wheel, shift between the 16.8 million colors and can be customized by Logitech’s software. Underneath the mouse, you’ll find high-quality feet that let the mouse glide over most surfaces, and there is a cover that you can remove and add the extra weight that comes inside the box.

Performance and Features

You can use Logitech’s software to link profiles to games, set DPI from 200 to 12,000, change RGB lights (its RGB lights can sync with other Logitech devices). And you can check battery life data if you purchase the wireless version of the mouse.

The mouse does a great job in high graphics games such as StarCraft II, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Diablo III, and Overwatch. No matter what type of game it is: action/adventure, real-time strategy, first-person shooter, or any other online game like Call Of Duty and PUBG, the G403 can handle all.

Those who prefer wireless gaming mouse, there’s a variant available.

How to Choose the Right Mouse for Small Hands

Mice companies don’t design single models for multiple sizes, but they design several mice for every hand size. Most modern mice range between 5 to 7 inches in length. A right mouse should feel comfortable in your hand, and it should be large enough to support your palm for better accuracy, you should also buy a wrist rest for your mouse pad to avoid developing long term injuries.

Ergonomic Mouse for Small Hands

The best way to determine if the mouse is ergonomically created is by measuring your hand and mouse. Use a measuring tape and measure your hand from your finger’s tip to the crease in your wrist. Once you find out your hand size, look for a mouse that is 75% of your hand size; the closer the size is, the more comfortable the mouse will feel while holding.

Right Mouse Posture

Now that you know how to choose the right size for your small hands, you should also know about mouse postures.

1)Gently lay your palm on the mouse, use desk support, or buy a wrist rest for better experience and comfort. Don’t rest your wrist on the mouse’s surface, and don’t put pressure on your wrist.

2)Spread your fingers on the mouse shell, keep your palm in the center, and your fingertips should be over the mouse’s edge.

3)Use your forearm to move the mouse for better experience and accuracy, move the mouse as it’s part of your body. Press buttons gently; don’t put too much pressure.

The Position of the Mouse

Keep your mouse close to your keyboard, reaching too far for the mouse can cause neck pain. If it has become your habit and you are having a hard time changing this, you can buy a mouse tray, which will help you keep the mouse in the right position.

How to Hold a Gaming Mouse

Holding your mouse in the same position for hours can develop carpal tunnel syndrome or strain injuries. Knowing the correct way of holding the mouse will help you avoid these injuries.

Types of Grips:

Palm Grip

In a palm grip, your palm and fingers rest on the surface of the mouse; it is the most popular grip. Palm grippers move the mouse with the bottom of their palm. There is low hand strain in this grip, but this grip can be uncomfortable for people with short fingers. All mice are designed for different grips, there are some mice for multiple grips and even for all grips, but some mice with wrong height and shape can be difficult to hold for palm grippers.

Claw Grip

This grip allows you to lay your palm on the back of the mouse, it increases control and allows better wrist movement than other grips. A small mouse with a high profile and rounded back should be the perfect choice for claw grippers.

Fingertip Grip

This grip is opposite of the palm grip; just your fingertips are on the mouse. A small, low-profile mouse under 100 grams should be the perfect pick for fingertip grippers, this grip allows you to lift the mouse easily and make quick moves.
