The error “Connectivitycheck.platform.hicloud issues” usually occurs when the user’s device has either a DNS server problem or a DNS address problem. More specifically, this problem only occurs on Huawei devices, as it must have been obvious from the post title.

Below we have listed seven fixes or solutions to resolving the Connectivitycheck.platform.hicloud issues and re-connecting to your beloved WiFi network.

Solution 1: Turn on the Wi-Fi switch

To connect to a wireless network, you must first turn on the Wi-Fi switch on your phone. While this may seem like a no-brainer in terms of troubleshooting, some phone owners may have forgotten to turn this switch on, resulting in the phone being unable to connect to the network, and therefore causing the error “Connectivitycheck.platform.hicloud issues”.

  • Navigate to Settings.
  • Tap Choose Wireless & Networks
  • Choose Wi-Fi.
  • Turn on your Wi-Fi.
  • Choose the wireless network to which you wish to connect, enter your Wi-Fi password, and click CONNECT.
  • Check to see if the issue is caused by the router.

Solution 2: Try to check if the router is causing the problem

Is the router accessible to other devices? Is your phone unable to connect to the router because it has a MAC filtering setting activated? Check if the problem persists when using a different Wi-Fi network as a simple approach to rule out a router issue.

Solution 3: Perform a soft reset

It’s time to look at the phone now that the router has been ruled out as a possible source of the issue. The first thing you should do is restart your phone to reinstall the latest software on it.

  • Hold down the Power and Volume down keys for up to 45 seconds.
  • Wait for the device to reboot.
  • Check to see whether the problem still exists.

Solution 4: Reset the phone network settings

This step is normally performed whenever the phone is unable to connect to a data network.

The following modifications will take place on your phone.

  • Wi-Fi networks that have been saved will be removed.
  • Bluetooth devices that have been paired will be removed.
  • Background data sync settings will be enabled.
  • Data restriction settings in programmes that have been manually turned on/off by the client will be reset to the default value.
  • The network selection mode will be set to automatic.

To reset your device’s network settings, follow these steps:

  • Navigate to Settings and Advanced Settings.
  • Tap Backup & Reset.
  • Reset Network Settings will appear.
  • Select Network Settings Reset, and confirm the procedure by clicking Network Settings Reset again.

Check to see whether the problem still exists.

Solution 5: Start the phone in Safe Mode

When you install an app you’ve downloaded, it may cause problems with your phone. In order to see if an app you downloaded is the source of the issue, you’ll need to boot your phone into Safe Mode, which only allows the pre-installed apps to operate.

  • Holding down the power button for a few seconds will turn off the phone.
  • When you see the Huawei logo on screen, press and hold the power button for a few seconds before releasing it.
  • After releasing the Power button, immediately press and hold the Volume down button.
  • Hold down the Volume button until the phone completely boots up.
  • When the phone boots up, the words “Safe mode” should show at the bottom of the screen.

If the problem does not occur in this mode, it is most likely caused by a programme you installed. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

Solution 6: Wipe the cache partition of the phone

The phone’s cached data, which is kept on a separate partition, can be corrupted. When this happens, you may experience various difficulties when using your phone. In order to rule out this as the source of the problem, you will need to wipe the cache sector of the phone from recovery mode.

  • Turn off the gadget.
  • Hold down the Volume Up button for a few seconds.
  • Connect the USB charger to the phone while holding the Volume Up button.
  • Your phone will enter recovery mode in a matter of seconds.
  • Remove the USB charger.
  • Use the volume controls to highlight wipe cache/factory reset and the power button to pick it.
  • When the process is finished, restart the system.

Solution 7: Perform a factory reset

After following the preceding steps, if the problem persists, it is likely due to a software error. A factory reset is the recommended course of action at this time. Before resetting your phone, make sure you have a copy of all of your data.

The process herein remains the same as wiping cache partition, however, in the second-last step of the process, i.e., where you need to select between wipe cache/factory reset, choose factory reset using the power button.

Check to see whether the problem persists after resetting the phone. If it does, then a malfunctioning hardware component may already be to blame. You should take the phone to a service centre straight away and have it looked out.
