Some Samsung Galaxy users have complained that their email suddenly stops working. Shortly after opening, users have reported seeing the error message “Unfortunately, Email has stopped,” at which point the program shuts.

What this signifies is that the app keeps crashing or has ceased working. While software problems are far more common, hardware malfunctions are not entirely out of the question.

Why Does This Issue Occur?

This error may appear if you tried to access your email from this app while server maintenance was in progress. Solution 1: Force Reboot

If the app cannot be closed normally or restarted, then you should try restarting the device. Do a soft reset on your device to fix any issues that may have arisen as a result of getting into this situation. A soft reset is similar to a normal restart, except that it also clears the RAM memory. In the past, this method has worked well for fixing minor issues.

  • Maintain pressure on the Power and Volume Down keys until the screen turns off (or for about 12 seconds). Please be patient as it may take a few seconds for the Maintenance Boot Mode screen to display.
  • Click Normal Boot from the Maintenance Boot Mode menu. After that, you must utilize the volume controls option to browse the menu. Moreover, use the leftmost button to select any option. Please let the reset up to 90 seconds to finish.
  • If you don’t see the option to enter Maintenance Boot Mode, your device doesn’t have it. Just let it shut down entirely before touching it again.

Select the Recently Used apps by pressing the Recents button (the one with three vertical lines on the left of the Home button).

Then you can exit the app by swiping it upwards. It should now be closed by force. If the option to restart all apps isn’t present, simply tapping the Close All app will do the trick.

Here’s another technique to close an app via force:

  • Start the program that manages your devices’ settings.
  • Select the App Store.
  • Choose the Settings cog icon (three-dot icon, upper right).
  • Select the System Apps to Display menu.
  • Discover Instagram, and launch it.
  • Press the button repeatedly until the sound stops.

Solution 3: Clear Cache and Data On Samsung Email

It will force the system to generate a fresh Email cache by erasing the existing one. For minor program issues, deleting the cache should do the trick. To ensure that all applications function properly, the system creates a temporary file known as the cache.

Solution 6: Delete and add an email account

Solution 7: Backup your files and reset your phone

If you’ve tried the steps above, but Email still crashes, the fault may lie in the firmware rather than the software itself, since Email is usually included in the factory installation.

To avoid being locked out of your device after the reset, you should first make a backup of your data and then delete your Google and Samsung accounts.

Normal Mode

You should be able to reset it to factory settings from the Settings menu. Despite some wording variations on Android devices, the process is consistent across all brands.

  • Access the Settings page as a first order of business.
  • The settings menu may be accessed by swiping twice from the top of the screen and then clicking the cog icon in the notification shade.
  • In the menu that appears, select “System.” If you own a Samsung, navigate to “General Management.”
  • Select “Reset Options” under “Advanced.” Samsung users will see “Reset.”
  • Start by browsing for “Factory Data Reset” or “Erase All Data (Factory Reset)” in the menus.
  • You will be warned that this process will permanently delete all data from your Android device’s storage. To start over, use the “Reset” or “Erase All Data” option.
  • Enter your lock pattern, PIN, or password to verify, and then push the button again to complete the factory reset.
  • The “erasing” animation will play and the device will restart instantly.
  • The Android phone or tablet will reboot, prompting you to conclude the setup procedure.
  • Determine if the “Email Keeps Crashing Or Crashing Issue” has been resolved.

Recovery Mode

  • The device will automatically turn off if you simultaneously hold the Volume Down and Power buttons. 
  • You’ll need to keep pressing them until the screen appears.
