Apple Pay is now live in Vietnam as Apple expands the service to more international territories.
The arrival of Apple Pay in Vietnam is no longer a surprise after the Ministry of Industry and Trade inadvertently revealed Apple’s plan last month. Apple’s launching of an online store in Vietnam also signaled the inevitable entrance of the service in the country. And now, users in Vietnam should finally be able to use their Apple devices for contactless payments in different transactions.
Apple researcher Aaron (who also shared the news about the arrival of Apple Pay in Morroco) shared the discovery on the X platform, saying the service is now live in the country, as shown by Apple’s backend. Tien Phong Commercial Joint Stock Bank (TPBank) also confirmed the availability of the service through a newly launched webpage. Meanwhile, Apple updated its support page, listing the following banks and card issuers:
- Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Visa credit and debit cards)
- Sacombank (Visa credit and debit cards)
- Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MB) (Visa credit and debit cards)
- Techcombank (Visa credit and debit cards)
- Vietcombank (Visa credit and debit cards)
- Vietnam Prosperity Joint Stock Commercial Bank (VPBank) (Visa and Mastercard credit and debit cards)
The news follows the coming of Apple Pay in Morroco in July, with Apple adding two names of banks supporting the service. It is unclear what other banks will join the two, but the list is expected to expand over time.
In related news, Apple has recently started a new ad campaign for Apple Pay for its customers in the United States (Atlanta and Dallas) and the United Kingdom (London, Birmingham, and Manchester). The move involves different types of advertising, from billboard and banner advertising to team-ups with TikTok creators. The company also introduced four ad clips on YouTube featuring different scenarios highlighting the benefits of Apple Pay.
