CIDManager identifies the country-specific code (CSC) and ODM (Original Design Manufacturing) country that is linked to the network carrier. If the carrier network and ODM country match, the CIDManager will receive the updates for your country. Otherwise, you will receive the global firmware update.
How to Find CIDManager App on My Phone?
This app is bundled with the system package in every Samsung smartphone. Samsung uses it to identify the country where the Smartphone is in use, with the help of a network carrier. It’s an essential app for downloading the correct firmware updates on your phone.

Note – Turning off CIDManager Notifications may also disable some critical system processes, so it is generally best to leave them enabled. Disabling the notifications will also stop you from receiving important firmware updates. If you are experiencing issues with CIDManager or any other system application, it is generally best to factory reset your phone or contact the phone manufacturer for help.
2. Force Stop/Disable the CIDManager Application
Another option is to force-stop the application. It will remove the current notification and block the app from sending any in the future. Here are the steps you need to take:
- Go to phone Settings by tapping the gear icon.
- Go to Apps and tap on the 3-dot icon in the screen’s top right corner.
- From the drop-down menu, select Show system apps.
- Scroll down to locate CIDManager and tap on it.
- Tap on Clear cache to delete app data.
- Tap on Force stop/Disable to stop the app from working.
- Tap on Uninstall updates to delete previous updates from the app.
If you force-stop the CIDManager app, it may cause issues with other phone functions. It’s recommended not to disable the app. Instead, you should restart your device, look for a system update or take your phone to the nearest service centre.
