Repairing the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max models will be easier, and that will be possible through the chassis redesign Apple is giving them.
Apple is bringing its easy-repair feature to the upcoming Pro models of the iPhone 15 line. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman said that the redesigned chassis would allow iPhone owners to easily access the insides of their devices by including a removable back glass.
Apple introduced this to the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus models but left the line’s Pro variants behind. With this, the iPhone 14 Pro models could only be opened from the front, while their standard counterparts in the line allow both front and back side opening. Interestingly, Apple is making a huge change in the release of the iPhone 15 series by now giving the easy-repair feature to the Pro models.
The move follows Apple’s previous initiatives to expand its self-repair service offerings to its customers. In April, Apple launched its Self-Service Repair online store in the US. The company said that the repair manuals and genuine Apple parts and tools for iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 lineups and iPhone SE (3rd generation) will be provided through the Apple Self-Service Repair Store in the said location. In June, the Cupertino company officially included the iPhone 14 lineup in its Self-Service Repair program as well as its 13-inch MacBook Air and MacBook Pro powered by M2.
