Apple continues its repairability initiatives in its new iPhone 15 lineup, which has the same back glass replacement pricing as the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus.
In 2022, Apple introduced the removable glass back component in the standard iPhone 14 models, allowing the models to have cheaper replacement costs compared to their Pro siblings. In comparison, changing the damaged back glass of an iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus cost $169 and $199, respectively. However, doing it for the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max costs much more at $499 and $549, respectively.
Apple has decided to continue the cheaper back glass replacement in all the models of iPhone 15, which is good news for folks who don’t have an AppleCare+ plan. Apple specifically mentioned this during the Wonderlust event, where it underscored the new internal chassis architecture for the back glass repairability of the Pro models. Thankfully, the regular iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models will experience this benefit since they also have a removable glass back.
Here is the pricing of back glass replacement for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 15 lineups as per Apple’s website.
