You might have heard of those wired audio splitters that let people connect two wired earphones to a single device. Unfortunately, ever since Apple removed headphone jacks from their smartphones, this workaround seems to be lost as well.
With most people relying on wireless headphones nowadays, it seems almost impossible to use two earphones at once. But need not worry because if you have an iOS 13.2 or higher device, things are going to be much simpler for you.
Here’s how you can use two sets of Bluetooth headphones to iPhone:
Use Two Bluetooth Headset Using Share Audio Feature on iPhone
With the iOS 13.2 update, Apple added a brand-new feature to iPhones known as the Share Audio feature that allows users to listen to the same audio playing on a device using two Bluetooth headsets at the same time.
However, keep in mind that this feature only works with headsets that have Apple’s W1 or H1 chipset, which are only found in Beats and AirPods. If you have one, then follow the steps given below to use the Share Audio feature:
- Firstly, navigate to Bluetooth settings on your iOS device and connect each of your Bluetooth headsets one by one
- Once done, connect either of the headsets and start playing your desired audio
- Then, access the Control Center on your iPhone by swiping up from the bottom of your screen
- Afterward, tap on the Music option to reveal more options
- Locate the Share Audio feature and tap on it
Now, you will get the option to adjust the volume of each of your Bluetooth devices manually.
Use Two Bluetooth Headphones on a Mac
There are multiple ways to use two Bluetooth earphones on a Mac simultaneously – you can either use an audio splitter tool or utilize an audio mixing utility. You can also use two earphones manually on your Mac by connecting them and following the steps given below:
- Head to Finder > Applications > Utilities
- Then, click on the Audio Midi Setup option
- Afterward, click on the + button located in the bottom-left corner of your screen and click on the “Create Multi-Output Device” option
- Once done, right-click on the icon and choose the “Use This Device for Sound Output” option
- Then, checkmark the boxes next to the listening devices that you want to use
- Next, head to the Menu section and choose the “Master Device” option
- Now check the box next to the “Drift Connection” option
- Afterward, head to System Preferences, followed by clicking on the Sound Tab and then the Output tab
Lastly, just select the multi-output that you created, and you’re good to go.

The Audio Sharing feature on iPhones works on first- and second-generation AirPods and also with Power Beats headphones. If you have any of the following devices, you can use these headsets to use the Audio Sharing feature:
- iPhone 8 (and newer)
- iPad Pro (first-generation and newer)
