iOS 17 beta comes with a bunch of new features and system improvements, including machine-learning-supported autocorrection, StandBy mode, NameDrop, and more.
However, it is worth noting that iOS 17 beta is still far from perfect and is currently suffering from different issues and bugs. As shared by different developers and testers from various forums, some major bugs cause keyboard and messaging issues, apps freezing and crashes, excessive battery usage and heating, autodeletion of non-Apple apps, and more. With this, it is advised to back up your files before getting the iOS 17 beta.
On the other hand, iOS 16.6 Beta 3 is also now available, although it won’t likely bring huge new features and improvements. Yet, one of the main highlights of the update is the iMessage Contact Key Verification that Apple first announced last December. The feature will give users another option to verify that the recipient of their messages or someone they are talking to is really the person they trust. And in case of an “exceptionally advanced adversary” has managed to eavesdrop on the supposedly encrypted communications, the activated feature will provide automatic alerts. According to the company, it is designed to give users better security assurance when using their devices. Apple added that this would specifically benefit individuals who “face extraordinary digital threats,” including journalists, human rights activists, and government officials.
