Apple‘s “Ping My Watch” feature is now in the iOS 17 update, and it is one of the handy features you can use to find your missing Apple Watch easily. While it is not automatically added to the Control Center when you download the update, you can easily activate it on the Settings app.
It is undeniable that Ping My iPhone is one of the best features of Apple Watch, allowing users to easily find their missing iPhones. Now, it’s good news that Apple has finally decided to bring it to the iPhone, allowing it to ping missing Apple Watches. While it sounds uncommon for someone to find a “missing” watch, it still makes sense and makes Apple’s devices more attractive.
It is now included in the plethora of iOS 17 features you can get by installing the update. Once you have iOS 17, you can follow the steps below to activate it and put it in your Control Center:
- Launch the Settings app.
- Scroll down to Control Center and tap it.
- Look for the “Ping My Watch” option under the “More Controls,” and tap the green + icon on its side. This will automatically include the function in your Control Center.
- To try it, open your Control Center and tap the Apple Watch icon. This will make your iPhone make a sound to help you locate it.
It is important to note, however, that the Ping My iPhone will only work when your iPhone and Apple Watch are connected over Bluetooth, the same way it works on Ping My Watch. Alternatively, if you think your device is missing in a wider space, you can rely on the Find My app. This should work even when your device is locked or charging.
