As reported in June, Apple is now observing a new requirement to push customers to activate their iPhones with a carrier when they purchase it using the Apple Card Monthly Installments (ACMI) program. This now applies to the company’s new iPhone 15 lineup.

It means if you are planning to order the new models using ACMI, you must now choose from T-Mobile, AT&T, and Verizon as your carriers.

On August 15, Apple started enforcing the new policy to all iPhone purchases everywhere where ACMI is accepted, which includes the physical and online stores. This removes the “Connect to a carrier later” option, which used to allow customers to get their iPhones without cellular connections. Nonetheless, Apple promises that the smartphone purchased using the ACMI option “is always unlocked, so you can switch carriers at any time.”

The new policy has also changed the installment term of Apple watches. As per Apple, the ACMI installment term for new Apple Watch purchases is now reduced to 12 months, a huge change from its former 24-month period.

iPhone 15 Series Prices

During the Apple Event on Tuesday, Apple announced the pricing of its new smartphone models. According to the giant, the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, and iPhone Pro retain the prices of their predecessors, while the iPhone 15 Pro Max will receive a slight price increase.

As Apple shared during its event, the standard iPhone 15 models will remain at the same prices as their predecessors. As such, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will be offered starting at $799 and $899, respectively, for 128GB of storage.

Meanwhile, while the iPhone 15 Pro still starts at $999 with 128GB storage, the iPhone 15 Pro Max will now start at $1199. This is the only model that will have the increase as opposed to the previous claims that both the Pro models will experience a hike. Nonetheless, Apple stressed during the event that the $1199 matches last year’s price with the same storage.
