Research firm TrendForce believes that the upgraded camera system of the iPhone 15 series will be the “star of the show” at Apple’s event next week. According to its report, the cameras could produce possible buyers.

The firm underscores the rumored specifications of the camera systems of the standard and Pro tiers of the lineup that will aid this success. The report reiterates the details of its previous report, including the arrival of Sony’s 2-Layer (Photodiode + Pixel) Transistor Pixel in the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus and the Periscope Lens Module in the iPhone 15 Pro Max model. It notes how the features will respectively allow the extension of the dynamic range of imaging and increase the optical zoom of the devices.

TrendForce’s report affirms an earlier claim by supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. According to the analyst, Apple is confident in the impact of the iPhone 15 Pro Max‘s periscope camera system, saying the feature’s exclusivity makes it the “selling point” of the model. With this, the report claims Apple will be dedicating 35% to 40% of the initial launch shipments of the new series to Pro Max.

Counterpoint Research also believes that Apple’s new lineup will succeed despite the ongoing challenging climate in the smartphone market. In its recent report, it said that together with Samsung’s foldables, Apple’s new smartphones would drive “a bump in sales volumes in the coming quarters.” TrendForce, meanwhile, claimed in a separate report that Apple has a chance of dethroning Samsung in the global market if its new iPhone 15 series manages to exceed expectations.
