Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman’s latest Power On newsletter puts the upcoming iPhone 15 line in the spotlight again. And while some of the details are just reiterations of previous reports already stressed by other industry analysts and experts, there is still a lot of interesting information revealed in Gurman’s report, making the wait for the iPhone 15 more thrilling.
Here are the details you need to know:
- One of the biggest improvements to expect from the new iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max models is the titanium frames. This will be a huge bump from stainless steel material, allowing the units to be lighter yet more durable.
- The new process that will be used to decrease the bezel sizes in iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max models is called low-injection pressure over-molding. The standard iPhone 15 models will also reportedly “trade in the notch for the Dynamic Island.”
- As shared in other reports earlier, the iPhone 15 will feature USB-C instead of the Lightning port.
- The Mute switch in iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max models will be replaced with a customizable Action Button.
- Gurman also supports earlier reports about the prince increase in the new series, saying he “would look out for at least minor price increases across all four models outside of the US,” but also added that he “wouldn’t rule out a price increase in the US.” Gurman’s statement follows the one from Barclays analyst Tim Long, who said the iPhone 15 Pro Max could sell from $1,199 to $1,299.
- Gurman also mentioned the improved camera system in the iPhone 15 line, with the standard models getting 48MP cameras, although they won’t have sensors as big as the ones on Pro models.
- Gurman also noted that iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max “are moving to a 3-nanometer chip that is noticeably snappier.”
- The Pro models will also be easier to repair, thanks to the redesigned chassis, allowing iPhone owners to easily access the insides of their devices by including a removable back glass.
