There are lots of exciting new features in iOS 17 to try, and one of those is Crossfade. Apple is not the first to introduce the feature, but it is still a welcome addition to the Apple Music app that keeps improving as iOS 17 continues to get more improvements.
With Crossfade, you should be able to set how smoothly one song transitions to another, making it sound like your entire playlist in one endless song. The feature can be accessed on Settings. Once set, you can enjoy this setup, whatever playlist you choose to play on Apple Music.
To set your Crossfade setting, follow the steps below on your iPhone or iPad:
- Go to Settings.
- Scroll down and tap Music.
- On the page, activate the Crossfade feature by toggling on the button. This will reveal the slider you can use to set the Crossfade transition.
- The slider setting will range from 1 second to 12 seconds. Use this to set the amount of time it takes for the current song to fade out and the new one to fade in. Choose the right setting according to your preference.
Once it is set, you can try it on your Apple Music player and observe how the songs transition from one to another. You can adjust the transition anytime by going to Settings.
It is important to note, nonetheless, that Crossfade only words when playing songs from your iPhone or when wearing a headset or earphones. It won’t work with AirPlay.
