Apple released the Release Candidates of iOS 16.7.2 and iOS 17.1 this Tuesday, indicating their imminent official public releases to users.

RC releases always signal the final touches the iPhone maker is making to the updates before sending them to compatible devices. iOS 16.7.2 RC has a build release number of 20H115, while iOS 17.1 RC’s build is 21B74.

Aside from these releases, Apple is also now offering the Release Candidates of

iPadOS 16.7.2, tvOS 17.1, macOS 14.1, and iPadOS 17.1.

The official release of the updates is expected to come in the next few days, but a recent report claimed that iOS 17.1 will be rolled out by Apple on Tuesday next week. French authority Agence Nationale Des Fréquences (ANFR) website shared the news after promising users in the country a fix involving the iPhone 12 radiation issue.

iOS 17.1 is expected to come with a variety of new features and improvements across the system. In the past betas, some of the additions spotted included the flashlight icon indicator for all Dynamic Island-capable devices, some Music app UI improvements, the “Use Cellular Data” option for AirDrop, black Reachability background, and other minimal system UI changes.

On the other hand, just like the recent releases, iOS 16.7.2 will likely include several bug fixes alongside some security updates from Apple. The same details might also be included in the iOS 17.1 official release.
