The third beta (21B5066a) of iOS 17.1 is now available for developers and public testers. It comes with a variety of bug fixes alongside expected improvements for the system. Here are some of those we’ve spotted:

  • The release includes an update for iPhone 12 users in France to address the country’s radiation concerns. In a dedicated document, Apple explains that the only problem in the matter points to the specific test protocol of France, which has a different standard.
  • The screen that appears when setting up a new Apple Watch has been updated to feature the new Watch faces.
  • In this update, the Action Button won’t be easily triggered by accident. Apple injected new code into the release, so the button must be pressed longer than usual in order to work.
  • The update also comes with bug fixes, including one for a power consumption issue caused by a paired iPhone and Apple Watch. The bug could reportedly happen when you pair an iPhone or Apple Watch running the original release of iOS 17 and watchOS10 to another device with the iOS 17.1 and watchOS 10.1 betas. Apple also addresses the crashing Apple Wallet in this update. For other fixes, click here.
