New photos leaked online revealed that Apple might release braided USB-C cables in multiple colors. According to leakers, there is a possibility that Apple could offer the cables to complement the colors of the new iPhone 15 models, specifically the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus.
Famous leaker @MajinBuOfficial first shared the news on Sunday. However, the leaker quickly noted that the original source of the video couldn’t be traced. Nonetheless, another leaker, Apple device collector @KosutamiSan (via MacRumors), supported the claim and said Apple has been performing design validation tests for the cables. The leaker also shared more photos of the leaked cables.
The photos show USB-C to USB-C cables sporting braid covers in a variety of colors. Aside from black and white cables, other color options included in the leak are purple, yellow, and coral. According to reports, the colored cables are for the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models of the new smartphone line of Apple. However, it is still unknown whether they will also be the same colors that Pro modes would receive. Other properties of the cables are also unspecified at this time, but other reports claim they could possess up to 40Gbps of data transfer speeds and up to 100W of charging power.
If true, the arrival of braided USB-C cables for Apple will complement Apple’s current cable offerings for its MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models. To recall, the cables of the said devices are already being offered in different colors. With this, moving to colored and braided cables for iPhone 15 models will just be a logical move for Apple.
