The iPhone 15 series is still unavailable, but cases for the phones are seemingly everywhere in China now. While this sounds nothing groundbreaking, the presence of the cases has opened the gateway to more rumor confirmations related to the “Ultra” brand and the Action Button of the iPhone 15.

The news is shared by famous leaker Majin Bu on X, stressing the cases are just clones. Nonetheless, given that many Chinese folks have access to the iPhone 15 production (and that most of the recent leaks have originated in China), it is highly likely that the cases’ details are accurate. If this is really the situation now, the cases are giving us a sneak peek of some iPhone 15 details prior to the September release.
To start, the cases sport silicon material both in smooth and textured variants and support for MagSafe wireless charging. The notable detail about them, however, is the absence of the hole originally meant for the Mute Button. This indicates the official entrance of the rumored Action Button in the iPhone 15 series. According to earlier reports, it will work like Apple Watch Ultra’s Action Button, allowing users to assign their preferred functions.
Another interesting detail found in the packaging of the cases points to the branding of a certain iPhone 15 model: the iPhone 15 Ultra. This complements earlier rumors (which are also corroborated by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman) that Apple has plans to change the branding of the iPhone 15 Pro Max to Ultra. This still seems unofficial, however, since some of the case packagings still contain the “Pro Max” branding.
