Another leak has surfaced, giving us another important detail about what to expect from the upcoming iPhone 15 lineup. According to a report, iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max will all get battery size increases, but the former will have the biggest boost among the models in the series.
The information started as a rumor on Weibo. However, it was later confirmed by the Chinese news website ITHome, which also covered other interesting Apple leaks, such as the company’s rumored patent Hotel app and the iPhone 15 Pro Max’s case leak. The leaker claimed the information came from an individual working at Foxconn, making the revelation more appealing.
In the post and the report, the source said the 3877mAh battery of the standard iPhone 15 model will lead to an 18% increase. This is the biggest bump to expect from the lineup. Nonetheless, other models are also expected to get improved batteries: iPhone 15 Plus: 4912mAh (13.6% increase), iPhone 15 Pro: 3650mAh (14.1% increase), and iPhone 15 Pro Max: 4852mAh (10.9% increase).
On the other hand, while this is good news for many Apple fans, it is important to note that there are still some areas that will determine whether users will really feel the increases. One of those points includes the chips that will be used on the models. According to earlier reports, iPhone 15 Pro will get a better A17 Bionic chip based on TSMC’s 3nm process, giving us hope that the models will really have battery performances. Yet, then again, there are other conditions to consider. We will be able to confirm that once the entire series comes out in September.
