The Verizon Calling plans come with a Caller ID as well as a Caller ID blocking feature. These features make it easier to decide how, when, and who you converse with.

Method 1: Default Name and Number

If you fail to connect with Verizon and request these changes, your number will automatically be retained as the default caller ID.

In addition to the phone number, area codes are also included for those subscribed to the $1.99 monthly plan.

For example, if you live in New York or make a call from there, it would display the relevant area code,  e.g., “555-555-5555,” by default.

Similarly, the name linked with the Verizon account will appear on the ID in case of landlines. 

Method 2: Changing the ID with the the customer support of Verizon

To modify the displayed identification when making a call, contact the Verizon customer care department. You can dial (800) 922-0204 for this. You can then make the request to the representative about making changes to the displayed called ID. 

The customer care representative can assist you with changing the ID properly. If you are the account holder, you can also alter the ID to a private number. Of course, the representative will validate this by asking you basic account questions.

Method 3: Changing the Caller identification via My Verizon

•  First, launch the My Verizon application.
• Then, go to the bottom to locate Account. When asked, enter the fingerprint, Face ID, or password. 
• Tap on the Manage device option on the right side of the mobile number. 
• Tap Share Name ID from the ‘Preferences’ section. Enter your My Verizon password if prompted, then tap Sign in.
• Tick the checkbox, accepting the terms and conditions once you edit the name. 
• Select Update.

Method 4: Changing Caller ID from a Computer

• Sign in to My Verizon using a web browser.
• Navigate to Account (at the top) > Apps & add-ons > Apps & add-ons overview from the My Verizon Home page.
• Click See All in the ‘My Add-ons & Apps’ section.
• Scroll to the ‘Share Name ID’ section and then click Product details.
• Choose the appropriate line to manage.
• Choose an option that will show when calling, then click Save changes: It may take up to 24 hours to process the request.

What is the way to Block Your Verizon Caller ID?

You cannot block the Verizon caller ID using your Android or iPhone settings. However, Verizon allows you to perform this via the My Verizon app or the official Verizon website. 

First, you must sign into your existing Verizon account. Then, click or tap on Blocks from your phone, choose Block services, and tap on the “Add” button. Find the Caller identification option under Additional Services and activate it to block your number. 

Getting started is easy. All you have to do is download the app and access your Verizon account. Then visit Manage, then Controls, and find the Adjust Service Blocks option. Next, tap on Devices and then select the smartphone option. Now, all that is left is enabling the ID blocking function. 

How Do You Block Caller ID on AT&T, T-Mobile, etc.?

Usually, you can deactivate the Caller identification settings of your phone on both T-Mobile and AT&T networks. However, if you are unable to find the option, then read the above section to see its availability on your phone.

Contacting the customer service of T-Mobile or  AT&T is the viable option in such cases if you wish to block the number. Dial 611 to connect with their customer service providers.

How Can You Block your Caller Identification With Sprint?

You can also hide your Caller ID using the My Sprint account if you use a Sprint phone. All you have to do is sign in to the website and select your smartphone via the drown-down menu. Then go to Setup your phone. Next, choose the Block Caller ID option under the Change my service section.
